Meet Hameed A. Syed, KC
(1939 – 2022)

Hameed was called to Punjab Bar in 1961, appointed to Provincial Bench in Pakistan and worked as Provincial Judge from 1963-1976. He immigrated to Canada and was called to the Alberta Bar in 1981. Hameed joined our firm in 1980 and became a partner in 1981. Hameed retired in 2011.

Hameed was a litigator whose preferred areas of practice were Civil and Criminal litigation, Personal Injury, Family Law, Adoption, and Child Welfare. Some of Hameed’s contributions to the legal profession in Alberta over the years include his stint as chairman of the Legal Aid Society of Alberta for Judicial District of Wetaskiwin and President of the Wetaskiwin Bar Association. Hameed was also actively involved in our community, having served in a variety of positions, including: Director of Camrose Women’s Shelter, Vice President of Centra Cam, School Trustee and Chairman of Camrose School District 1315, and School Trustee of Battle River School Division 1315.

Hameed is an avid bridge player and is a Life Master American Contract Bridge League.

Hameed retired from the firm, and the practice of law, on June 1, 2011. We wish him a long and happy retirement!
